What is the Blue Ribbon Bacon Festival?

The Blue Ribbon Bacon Festival is a celebration of all things bacon! It's an annual event held in Iowa that brings together bacon lovers from all over the world to enjoy delicious bacon dishes, live music, and fun activities.

How do I get tickets to the festival?

You can purchase tickets to the Blue Ribbon Bacon Festival through our website. We offer several different ticket packages to fit your budget and bacon-loving needs.

Where is the festival located?

Agricultural Building at the Iowa State Fairgrounds.
Des Moines, IA

Where do I park?

There is street parking available near the festival grounds. Parking within the fairgrounds is free and available by the Varied Industries building or the Midway parking lot at the Iowa State Fairgrounds.

I bought a table ticket – how does that work?

Each table ticket can be scanned 10 times. All other tickets can only be scanned once. You may provide hardcopy or soft copy for those attendees at your table. Upon arrival, make your way to the Main Entrance and enter through the VIP line to receive your vouchers and wristbands.

Do I need to bring money?

Bacon inspired dishes and drinks throughout the venue will be available for purchased. Cash or credit cards are accepted and an ATM is available onsite.

Can I leave and re-enter the event?

Yes. You’ll receive a wristband upon entry which will allow re-entry.

Is the festival family-friendly?

The Blue Ribbon Bacon Festival is a 21+ year old event only. Unfortunately, the kiddos need to stay home for this one.

What can I bring into the festival?

We want you to have a great time at the festival, but we do have some restrictions on what can be brought in. Fanny packs or purses that are 6" or smaller are allowed, but if your bag is larger than 6", it must be clear. Please note that chairs and blankets are allowed in certain areas, but may not be permitted in all areas of the festival.

Are there any prohibited items or activities at the festival?

To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all attendees, we ask that you please refrain from bringing any weapons or smoking within the festival grounds. Only service dogs are permitted, so please leave your furry friends at home. Outside food and alcohol are not permitted, and we regret to inform you that there aren't any places to fill up reusable water bottles. However, we have you covered and will be selling 16 oz bottles for $1 from Crystal Clear. Please be aware that there will be security checkpoints at both entrances to enforce these policies. Thank you for your cooperation in helping us make the festival a fun and safe experience for all!

What happens if it rains during the festival?

The festival is rain or shin. The majority of the festival takes place inside.

What kind of bacon dishes will be available at the festival?

We have a wide variety of bacon dishes available at the festival, ranging from classic bacon mac n' cheese to more unique creations like bacon-wrapped corn dogs to chocolate covered bacon.
