Welcome to the New Website
This is the beginnings of the Blue Ribbon Bacon Festival’s website. It is being web-mastered by Jason Mosley of MrBaconpants.com (Me). I will be adding new content as I gather it together. I hope to post up to the minute updates about the planning of the event on the blog.
The Blue Ribbon Bacon Festival in Des Moines, Iowa was a bacontastic event. There was so much bacon goodness that I am going to be posting lot of videos and photos of last years event.
I would like to mention how impressed I am with Iowa’s capitol city (I live in Pittsburgh, PA), it’s clean, new, and the traffic is very mild. The people that live there are so friendly and they left a lasting impression on me. Des Moines is a city with a small town atmosphere. I felt safe and comfortable as soon as I got into town.
Mr. Baconpants,
You are very correct about Des Moines, one of the best cities in the lower 48 ( Pittsburgh way up there, also ). I am working my way back to my hometown for the festival this year, and I think that I will be traveling farther than you. Birmingham, AL. to DSM is 926 miles.
But, you rock anyway and I enjoy reading your blog. I had a caddy at Oakmont CC one time named ” Bacon Bits “. Do you know him?
